Ray Sanchez gave up the fewest hits he has since back in April of 2024 on Tuesday. He turned in nothing short of a gem, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Crawford is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

Sanchez's effort led Crawford over Hoover and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals are limping into the matchup having lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season.
