Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of JJ Dufour and Jaiven Pope Lead Edgewood to Victory + How To Watch

The Edgewood Warriors got the win against the Ramsey Rams on Friday by a conclusive 41-21. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 349th in Ohio, while the Rams are ranked 111th in New Jersey).

Leading Edgewood to victory were Jaiven Pope and JJ Dufour. Pope rushed for 180 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, while Dufour rushed for 46 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 180 rushing yards gave Pope a new career-high. Dezarion Triplin was in the mix as well, providing Edgewood with one score.

Edgewood's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Mason Thorr was the leader with two sacks. Edgewood received some extra help from Triplin, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Edgewood has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Edgewood will challenge Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ramsey, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Dwight Morrow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Rams' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
