Baseball Recap: Wake Prep Academy Victorious

Wake Prep Academy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the South Granville Vikings by a score of 8-3. This was payback for the Guardians, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Branden Sigman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Wake Prep Academy let Russell Fowler and Ethan Hernandez run wild. Fowler scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Hernandez scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Hernandez a new career-high in stolen bases. Garrett Watkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Wake Prep Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for South Granville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wake Prep Academy will square off against Franklinton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Granville, they are taking a road trip to challenge Clayton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
