Basketball Recap: Brookstone Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Brookstone gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 54-30 margin over the Kendrick Cherokees. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Cherokees recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brookstone to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julie Anne Pyle, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Pyle has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Meg McPherson, who put up 11 points.

Several Cherokees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trummeia Robinson, who earned ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylan Russaw, who scored 14 points and five steals.

Kendrick's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Brookstone is taking a road trip to face off against Spencer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kendrick, they will welcome Greenville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
