Service is 1-7 against Bettye Davis East Anchorage since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Saturday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Thunderbirds  at 12:00  p.m. Service has given up an average of 7.8  runs per game this season, but Saturday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Service is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of Alaska's top teams: South Anchorage, who was ranked second  at the time (Service was ranked 12th). The Cougars fell  13-10 to the Wolverines on Wednesday. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.
  Kira Williams was cooking despite her team's loss,   firing off two  home runs and six  RBI while going 2-for-3. Those  home runs were  her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Madison Davis, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
Meanwhile, while Bettye Davis East Anchorage put up some  runs on Saturday, the same  can't be said for South Anchorage. The Thunderbirds blew past the Wolverines 9-0. Considering the Thunderbirds have won five contests by more than six  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Sela Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   four  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Penina Tali was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Maliana Tavai, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 Bettye Davis East Anchorage  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in three consecutive  games.
 Bettye Davis East Anchorage's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 12-2. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Service, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
