Basketball Recap: Giltner Takes a Loss

Giltner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Kenesaw Blue Devils, falling 44-14. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 42-27 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Avery Reeson was Giltner's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Reeson also led the team in assists with two. Peyton Schutt held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

Kenesaw got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was McKinnley Kroos out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Kroos a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Hess, who posted nine points.

Giltner's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Kenesaw, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Giltner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 38-18 defeat against McCool Junction on the 16th. Kenesaw has also already played their next game, a 48-31 victory against Lawrence-Nelson on the 17th.
