Volleyball Game Preview: Contra Costa Christian Cougars vs. Making Waves Academy Marlins

The Contra Costa Christian Cougars will head out to face off against the Making Waves Academy Marlins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Contra Costa Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

On Thursday, Contra Costa Christian made easy work of Fremont Christian and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Contra Costa Christian was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-11, 25-16.

RICHY LYMAN and Sean Cheung were among the main playmakers for Contra Costa Christian as the former had 17 assists and 11 digs and the latter had 17 digs and three assists. That's the most assists Cheung has posted since back in March.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Making Waves Academy and California Crosspoint, and Making Waves Academy kept the tradition alive. The Marlins blew past the Rams 3-0 on Monday.

Making Waves Academy walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-18.

Making Waves Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. As for Contra Costa Christian, their record now sits at 16-7.

Contra Costa Christian might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Making Waves Academy when the teams last played back in March. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
