Softball Recap: Sterling Golden Warriors vs. Moline Maroons
There's no place like home for Sterling, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They skirted past the Moline Maroons 8-7. The Golden Warriors haven't had any issues with the Maroons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Lily Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lily Cantu was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kaity Taylor also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
