Baseball Recap: Utica Eisenhower Takes a Loss

Utica Eisenhower had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 7-11 to make it five. They came up short against the Woodhaven Warriors, falling 10-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 8-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Woodhaven, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. The result was nothing new for Woodhaven, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Woodhaven's part, Matt Regan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Woodhaven got a massive performance out of Lucas Farner, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Farner has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Perry, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

While Utica Eisenhower had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
