Basketball Game Preview: Peru Tigers vs. Logansport Berries

The Peru Tigers will square off against the Logansport Berries at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Logansport took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Peru, who comes in off a win.

Peru is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-48 win over Twin Lakes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Logansport was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 67-63 to Benton Central. The Berries have struggled against the Bison recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Peru will need to focus on slowing down Logan Lange, one of several Logansport players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Lange has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Anthony Delvalle, who shot 45% from the field en route to 20 points and five boards.

Peru's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Logansport, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Everything came up roses for Peru against Logansport in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 71-42 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Peru since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
