Mt. Carmel and Rancho Bernardo are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Sundevils will be playing at home against the Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mt. Carmel managed to slip by San Marcos the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Sundevils came up short against the Knights on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Mt. Carmel was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Rancho Bernardo had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Escondido 3-0 on Wednesday. The Broncos not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 26th.

One reason for the win was Rancho Bernardo's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-14.

Mt. Carmel has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Rancho Bernardo, their victory bumped their record up to 7-17.

Mt. Carmel skirted past Rancho Bernardo 2-1 when the teams last played back in March. Do the Sundevils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
