Baseball Recap: Reedley Find Success

Reedley took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Immanuel, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Eagles 6-5 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Eagles last Wednesday, they had to take a 10-0 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Cole Betancourt, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Eli Jarrett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

With the win, Reedley broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-5. As for Immanuel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Reedley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Red Bluff on the 14th. As for Immanuel, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-0 victory against Yosemite on the 14th.
