Patriot had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Chaffey Tigers 27-8 on Friday. The Warriors pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Patriot was led to victory by Nathan Villanueva and Nicholas Leach. Villanueva rushed for 108 yards and one score on only eight carries, while Leach rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Patriot was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Coming up, Patriot will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Granite Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chaffey, they will head out to face off against Fillmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
