Basketball Game Preview: Bradford Prep Bears vs. Corvian Community Cardinals

The Bradford Prep Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Corvian Community Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Bradford Prep beat York Prep 65-59. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bears' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 287th in North Carolina, while the Patriots are ranked 100th in South Carolina).

Bradford Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaden Bradley led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Bradley is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Luke Hanson, who posted 13 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Corvian Community came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past the Bulldogs with a 59-54 victory.

Corvian Community has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Bradford Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Bradford Prep lost to Corvian Community on the road by a decisive 72-55 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Bradford Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
