Volleyball Recap: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Dighton Hornets
Decatur Community lost against Dighton back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 2-1. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Decatur Community started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 25-13.
Brylee Minnick paced Decatur Community's offense, picking up 13 kills. Minnick got some help from Lauren May and her 14 assists. May also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ella Williby, each putting up two.
Decatur Community's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Dighton, they pushed their record up to 18-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Coincidentally, Decatur Community and Dighton will both be playing Quinter the next time they take the court. The Red Devils will head out to face the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Hornets will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
