Basketball Game Preview: Wooster Colts vs. Hug Hawks

The Wooster Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Hug Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Wooster slipped by Portola 61-60. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 92nd in Nevada, while the Tigers are ranked 633rd in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hug entered their tilt with Mineral County last Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Serpents with points to spare, taking the game 68-50.

Hug's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Wooster, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-11.

Wooster came up short against Hug in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 73-62. Can Wooster avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
