Mountain View hasn't had much luck against Orem recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bruins will host the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. Mountain View has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Mountain View is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Uintah on Thursday. They came up short against the Utes, falling 14-2.
Mountain View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Saralynn Hair, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Orem, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Timpanogos with a sharp 16-6 win on Thursday. Considering the Tigers have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kiley Hoshnic was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Sadie Groneman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Andlie Allen was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Orem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 12 consecutive contests.
Orem's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Mountain View hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Orem struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
