Volleyball Game Preview: International Community Comets vs. Holy Cross Lutheran Academy Crusaders

The International Community Comets will face off against the Holy Cross Lutheran Academy Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

International Community came up short against Bishop Moore on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

International Community was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-20.

Despite the loss, International Community had strong showings from Katie Parker, who had nine digs and one assist, and Ella Jane DeLoach, who had 16 digs and 11 kills. DeLoach is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had nine or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

Meanwhile, Holy Cross Lutheran Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Circle Christian.

Holy Cross Lutheran Academy took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-16, 25-19.

International Community's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Holy Cross Lutheran Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
