Lakeland took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Moscow, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bears 15-14. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 7-1 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Lakeland got a massive performance out of Jaiden Corbey, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Corbey hit this season. Another player making a difference was Raygen Dutton, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.

Lakeland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lakeland's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Moscow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bears beat Lakeland by a score of 26-10 later that day.
