Baseball Recap: Rolling Hills Prep Gets the Win

Rolling Hills Prep posted their closest win since April 9, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Shalhevet Firehawks.

The team relied heavily on Matthew Moyer, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Sarner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Rolling Hills Prep's record now sits at 10-6-1. As for Shalhevet, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Rolling Hills Prep will venture away from home to square off against Rancho Dominguez at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shalhevet, they will host Compton Early College at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rising Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.92 runs per game on average), something the Firehawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
