Football Game Preview: Hidalgo Early College Pirates vs. Valley View Tigers

The Hidalgo Early College Pirates will face off against the Valley View Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses dating back to last season for Hidalgo Early College and four for Valley View.

Hidalgo Early College's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Calallen on Friday. They were outmatched by the Wildcats and fell 62-0. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1148th, while the Wildcats are ranked 380th).

Meanwhile, Valley View played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 53-7 loss at the hands of Zapata. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.

Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Hidalgo Early College, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Hidalgo Early College strolled past Valley View when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 28-14. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
