Volleyball Game Preview: Maiden Blue Devils vs. South Iredell Vikings + How To Watch

The Maiden Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the South Iredell Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Maiden is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Hickory just ended the team's ten-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Red Tornadoes. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since August 26th.

While Maiden ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-22.

Meanwhile, South Iredell came up short against Mooresville on Thursday, falling 3-0.

South Iredell was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.

South Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Maiden, their loss dropped their record down to 15-3.

Maiden couldn't quite get it done against South Iredell in their previous matchup back in August of 2021 as they fell 3-1. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
