Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saks). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Faith Christian Lions 68-14. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.
Saks found their leader in sophomore Meorri English, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 17 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sania Angel, who posted six points along with eight steals and seven boards.
Saks smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
The victory (which was Saks' fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Faith Christian, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-6.
Saks and Cherokee County will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on December 28th. As for Faith Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
