Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Alex Springs and Malaki Baker Lead St. Cloud to Victory

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but St. Cloud ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Oviedo Lions 47-44. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 71-63 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading St. Cloud to victory were Malaki Baker and Alex Springs. Baker went 7 for 13 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Springs went 8 of 18 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ryan Rodriguez, who posted seven points.

St. Cloud's record is now 19-3. As for Oviedo, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9.

St. Cloud wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-29 victory against Celebration on the 24th. Oviedo has also already played their next matchup, a 71-67 loss against Victory Christian Academy on the 25th.
