Softball Recap: Tug Valley Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Tug Valley waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the East Ridge Warriors an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Bailee Hall made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

Hall wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Katie Hall, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kenadi Casey was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Tug Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Tug Valley pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for East Ridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Tug Valley will challenge Sherman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Ridge will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' game: after the Panthers faces off against the Tide, they'll take on East Ridge again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
