Basketball Recap: Carson Takes a Loss

Carson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 72-45 loss at the hands of the Damonte Ranch Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Senators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 80-54 on January 3rd.

Damonte Ranch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kin Vong, who went 6 for 10 en route to 17 points. That's the most points Vong has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Drew Dodson, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds.

Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Damonte Ranch, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carson has already played their next game (against Reed), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Damonte Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Reno at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Reno is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.
