Basketball Recap: Prairie City-Monroe Wins Going Away Against Montezuma

Prairie City-Monroe hadn't done well against Montezuma recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs enjoyed a cozy 59-44 victory over the Montezuma Braves. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 48-39 win the Braves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Prairie City-Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Montezuma, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Prairie City-Monroe will challenge West Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montezuma has already played their next game, a 64-10 win against Belle Plaine on the 10th.
