Football Recap: Franklin Regional Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Franklin Regional was the 49-26 winner over Hempfield Area when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers lost to the Spartans at home by a 31-14 margin on Friday.

Despite the loss, Franklin Regional still got an impressive performance from Jet Taylor, who rushed for 160 yards and one touchdown.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hempfield Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aidan Stinebiser, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Stinebiser a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another player making a difference was Dominic Detruf, who threw for 202 yards and one TD on only 15 passes.

Franklin Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hempfield Area, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Regional will square off against Upper St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hempfield Area, they will welcome Kiski Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
