            Baseball Preview: Columbia Roughnecks vs. Sinton Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            For the second straight game, Columbia will face off against Sinton. The Roughnecks will challenge the Pirates at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Columbia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5  runs per game  this season.
Columbia heads in on the heels of a playoff  contest on Thursday. They fell  4-0 to Sinton. The Roughnecks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
For Sinton's part,  not much got past  Keldon Kemp, who gave up just  four  hits and racked up six Ks to keep Columbia off the board. Kemp has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Kash Wood was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Dylan Arriaga was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  doubles and one  stolen base.
 Sinton is  on a roll lately: they've  won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 17-13-2.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Columbia has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 6.7  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sinton struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 6.6  strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
