Softball Game Preview: Lakeside Lutheran Warriors vs. Turner Trojans

The Lakeside Lutheran Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Turner Trojans at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lakeside Lutheran 2.1, Turner 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Lakeside Lutheran is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Stoughton get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Turner put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They put the hurt on Jefferson with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Olyvia Piranio, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Jefferson off the board. Piranio has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emma Bue was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Jayla Jackson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Lakeside Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Turner, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3.
