            Basketball Recap: Norfolk Panthers vs. Lincoln Northeast Rockets        
        
		
        
        
            Norfolk was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat. They were beaten by the Lincoln Northeast Rockets 82-49. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in January of 2024.
 When it comes to explaining why Norfolk lost, don't look at  Drew Streich. Despite the final result, he  posted 21  points. Streich continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played.  Vidal Aguirre also deserves some recognition as  he  grabbed his first  steal of the season.
 Lincoln Northeast's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Grant Fredericks, who  went 9 of 12  en route to 19 points and four  steals. Those four  steals gave  Fredericks a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Lazerek Houston, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 16  points and nine  assists.
Norfolk's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Lincoln Northeast, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
 Norfolk will take on Lincoln North Star at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday. As for Lincoln Northeast, they and Lincoln Southwest will meet in a classic North v. South matchup  at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday. One thing working in Lincoln Northeast's favor is that they have posted at least 55  points  every time they've taken the court this season.
