Softball Recap: Aquinas Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Aquinas ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the La Crosse Logan Rangers 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 last Thursday.

Abby Ziolkowski spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ava Scholze, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Lauren VonRuden, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Aquinas now has a winning record of 4-3. As for La Crosse Logan, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Coming up, Aquinas will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Salem at 4:30 p.m. As for La Crosse Logan, they will head out to challenge Holmen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
