            Softball Recap: Amboy Clippers vs. Morrison Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            Amboy had lost five straight on the road, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-17-1 to make it six. They came up short against  the Morrison Mustangs, falling  12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  10-0  back in April.
As for Morrison, the  victory was  the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-4. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games.
For Morrison's part,  Ava Duncan was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits (and not a single walk). Duncan has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news, Morrison got a  massive  performance out of  Kiyah Wolber, who  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  Wolber has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of  Allie Anderson, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double.
 Looking ahead, Amboy will challenge Somonauk at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Morrison, they will face off against Oregon at 11:30  a.m.  on Saturday.
