Manteca's tournament run continued when they took on Venture Academy on Saturday. Manteca fell just short of Venture Academy by a score of 57-54. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 478th, while the Mustangs are ranked 230th).

Meanwhile, Downey had to suffer through a 57-23 loss at the hands of Pleasant Valley.

Manteca's record now sits at 5-9. As for Downey, their record now sits at 2-9.

Everything came up roses for Manteca against Downey in their previous matchup on December 10th, as the team secured a 62-33 win. Will Manteca repeat their success, or does Downey have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
