Mater Dei had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Classical Academy Caimans on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Monarchs as they're now sitting on six straight.
Ben Smith paced Mater Dei's offense, picking up 14 kills. Smith got some help from Jake Newman and his 33 assists. Smith also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jack Jadon, racking up two apiece.
Mater Dei's win bumped their record up to 29-12-2. As for Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 26-14.
