Football Recap: Victoria West Skates Past Mccollum with Ease

Victoria West strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the McCollum Cowboys 41-7. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Cowboys are ranked 863rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Nolan Boyce, who threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. Those 244 passing yards gave him a new career-high. 109 of Boyce's passing yards were hauled in by Jeret Swanson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Victoria West's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for McCollum, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Victoria West is taking a road trip to challenge Tivy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
