Softball Game Preview: Rensselaer Central Bombers vs. West Central Trojans

The Rensselaer Central Bombers will challenge the West Central Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Rensselaer Central came up short against Winamac on Monday, falling 18-7. The loss put an end to the Bombers' undefeated start to the season.

Kylie Spencer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Stacia Crabtree was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, West Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-2 to North White.

West Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Franscoviak, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Those hits were Franscoviak's first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rensselaer Central fell to 2-1. As for West Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Rensselaer Central hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like West Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
