Football Game Preview: Springfield Senators vs. Jacksonville Crimsons + How To Watch

The Springfield Senators are taking a road trip to face off against the Jacksonville Crimsons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Springfield's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Springfield beat Quincy Notre Dame 35-29. Those 35 points were actually the fewest the Senators have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

It was another big night for Brody Scheffler, who threw for 262 yards and two TDs on only 17 passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Armanze Lewis was in the mix too, providing Springfield with two scores.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jacksonville). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-14 victory over Springfield Southeast. The win continues a trend for the Crimsons in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won seven in a row.

Jacksonville found their leader in sophomore Darren Henry, who rushed for 134 yards and three TDs on only six carries. Those 134 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Henry. Jeremiah Jackson also helped out as he racked up 106 rushing yards.

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Jacksonville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Springfield was able to grind out a solid win over Jacksonville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 36-29. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Jackson, who rushed for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Senators still be able to contain Jackson? There's only one way to find out.
