Basketball Game Preview: Clear Fork Colts vs. Cardington-Lincoln Pirates

The Clear Fork Colts will venture away from home to take on the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Clear Fork will be strutting in after a win while Cardington-Lincoln will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Clear Fork strolled past River Valley with points to spare, taking the game 48-29. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Vikings are ranked 440th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cardington-Lincoln came up short against Buckeye Central on Wednesday and fell 45-32. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clear Fork will need focus on slowing down Kinstin Henthorn, one of several Cardington-Lincoln players who made an impact when they last played. She posted nine points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Madison Caulkins, who put up five points and five rebounds.

Cardington-Lincoln now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Clear Fork, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Clear Fork strolled past Cardington-Lincoln in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 54-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clear Fork since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
