Preview: Lake Worth Bullfrogs vs. Dunbar Wildcats
Lake Worth is 0-3 against Dunbar since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lake Worth Bullfrogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dunbar Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Lake Worth humbled Western Hills with a 49-21 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-0.
Damion Hopkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 111 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while also picking up 51 receiving yards. Hopkins was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cornell Avington, who gained 127 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Dunbar entered their tilt with Castleberry with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Dunbar claimed a resounding 59-9 win over Castleberry at home. Dunbar pushed the score to 47-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Castleberry had no chance of recovering from.
Ja'marion Garrett went supernova for Dunbar, rushing for 125 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries. Ben Smith was another key contributor, gaining 92 total yards and two touchdowns.
Lake Worth is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Dunbar, their victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2.
Lake Worth came up short against Dunbar in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 14-10. Thankfully for Lake Worth, Murry Moore (who rushed for 200 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
