Football Game Preview: Mahwah Thunderbirds vs. Paramus Spartans + How To Watch

Mahwah is on a four-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Paramus a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Mahwah Thunderbirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paramus Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Mahwah will be strutting in after a win while Paramus will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Mahwah turned things around against Dwight Morrow on Friday. They blew past the Maroon Raiders 28-6. Considering the Thunderbirds have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mahwah didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Matthew Odumgba and Chris Defelice.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Paramus after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Teaneck who ended up claiming the real prize. The Spartans took a 21-7 bruising from the Highwaymen. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly 14 points.

Mahwah will have to contain Uland Carroll as he made an impact in Paramus' last game. He rushed for 81 yards and one score.

Paramus' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Mahwah, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Mahwah came up short against Paramus in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 28-21. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
