Basketball Recap: Fort Myers Comes Up Short

Fort Myers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 55-47 to the Cape Coral Seahawks. The Green Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seahawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Fort Myers still got an impressive performance from Vinny Carbonara, who went 9 of 17 en route to 23 points. The dominant performance gave Carbonara a new career-high in points. Jacory Clark was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Fort Myers' loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Cape Coral, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Fort Myers didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-64 victory against Mariner on the 27th. Cape Coral has also already played their next matchup, a 69-32 win against Bonita Springs on the 28th.
