League recap: Holland overpowering for Franklin in past week

3A/2A WNC league recap: 3/20/13

Tyler Holland was the best pitcher in 3A/2A WNC this week, leading Franklin. He racked up 12 strike outs this week.

Trey Maslin was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .818 average with seven RBIs. The Panthers went 2-1.

Smoky Mountain's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing five hits and two walks to lead the league in both categories.

Franklin's Maslin destroyed 3A/2A WNC pitching this week while leading the league in average, hits and runs batted in. Maslin feasted on opponents pitching with a .818 average and seven RBIs thanks to nine hits.

West Henderson's Cameron Crisp struck out 12 Asheville Christian Academy hitters en route to a 14-0 victory on March 13. He gave up two hits and zero runs over seven innings of work.



Maslin drove in four runners on Thursday in the Panthers' 10-0 victory over Murphy. He went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
