Volleyball Recap: Lakeland Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lakeland Christian Academy walked away with it. They put the hurt on the St. Mary's Rams with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Lakeland Christian Academy was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-23, 27-25.

Jordan Gerster paced Lakeland Christian Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Gerster got some help from Audrey Myers and her 14 assists. Myers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Lakeland Christian Academy now has a winning record of 11-10-2. As for St. Mary's, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11-1 record this season.

Lakeland Christian Academy will face off against St. Paul's Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
