Recap: West Forsyth Titans vs. Davie War Eagles
There's no place like home for the West Forsyth Titans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Davie by a score of 72-59 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
West Forsyth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron White led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacari Brim, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.
Davie's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Powers, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Powers hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ratledge, who scored 15 points.
West Forsyth pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Davie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-3.
West Forsyth will be playing in front of their home fans against R.J. Reynolds at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. West Forsyth knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully R.J. Reynolds likes a good challenge. As for Davie, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkland at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Davie is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Parkland in North Carolina (Davie is ranked 33rd, while Parkland is ranked 212th).
