Baseball Recap: North Callaway Beats Montgomery County for Their Fourth Straight Victory

While North Callaway's victory against Montgomery County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunderbirds skirted past the Wildcats 7-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Thunderbirds also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Keaton Bell made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Bell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Sheets, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Carson Bassett was another, earning two runs and one stolen base.

The win (which was North Callaway's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Montgomery County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

North Callaway wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against Osage on the 25th. Montgomery County has also already played their next match (against Southern Boone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
