Volleyball Recap: Trinity Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Charlee Phillips and Avalynn Johnson + How To Watch

Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Southeast Guilford Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

While Trinity ultimately came up short, they really made Southeast Guilford work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 29-27, 25-18.

Trinity's loss came despite strong showings from Avalynn Johnson and Charlee Phillips. Johnson had 23 assists and seven digs, while Phillips had 14 digs and three assists. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 34 games she's played dating back to last season.

Clarke McLaughlin was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last five contests.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Southeast Guilford, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Trinity wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Asheboro on the 4th. As for Southeast Guilford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Eastern Guilford on the 9th.
