Softball Game Preview: Lakewood Leopards vs. St. Pauls Bulldogs

The Lakewood Leopards will head out to square off against the St. Pauls Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 14 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Lakewood and five for St. Pauls dating back to last season.

Lakewood lost 22-16 to Lejeune on Friday. Even if the Leopards couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for St. Pauls' offense. They came up short against Cape Fear on Friday, falling 22-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

St. Pauls saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerzey Jacobs, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. What's more, Jacobs posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

St. Pauls' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
