Softball Recap: Valmeyer Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Valmeyer was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against the Red Bud Musketeers, falling 17-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered against the Musketeers since May 9, 2018.

Valmeyer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Coats, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Valmeyer's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Red Bud, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Valmeyer will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Okawville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Red Bud, they will venture away from home to face off against Freeburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
