Baseball Game Preview: Lake Ridge Eagles vs. Mansfield Legacy Broncos

For the second straight game, Lake Ridge will face off against Mansfield Legacy. The Eagles will face off against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lake Ridge fell victim to Mansfield Legacy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Broncos since on Tuesday.

Lake Ridge got a good showing from Tony Green, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Green has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lake Ridge saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thijs Fallon, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Mansfield Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12-3 record this season.
